A real estate follow-up schedule you can actually keep

Published

Most agents know they should follow up. The problem is doing it consistently when you are busy. A schedule you can keep beats a perfect one you ignore.

Get started

Respond fast to new inquiries

The first reply sets the tone. Answer a new inquiry as soon as you can, ideally the same day, and say clearly what happens next.

Use a simple cadence

A reasonable starting point for an active lead:

  • Day 0: reply and ask what they are looking for
  • Day 2–3: send two or three matching listings
  • Day 7: check in and offer a viewing
  • Every 2–4 weeks after: share a new listing or a short update

Make every message useful

Do not send “just checking in” again and again. Send something specific: a new listing that fits, a price change, a question about their timeline.

Do not rely on memory

Create a task for every follow-up the moment you decide it, with a date. A shared calendar and a daily list of what is due today turn follow-up from a habit into a system.
